Mentally Ill Substance Abuse Treatment

Recognizing the prevalence of mental illness among the substance abuse population, FGC developed an innovative program for mentally ill substance abusers. Since April 2000, specific treatment slots have been dedicated to provide not only outpatient substance abuse counseling and methadone medication management, but also on site psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, psychiatric education, and specialized case management service. Additionally, this program has offered provision of psychotropic medications through a linkage agreement with Walgreen’s. The results of MISA-enhanced on -site services are evidenced by high retention and high compliance in this innovative program!

Mental Health Counseling
FGC employs qualified licensed psychologists, as well as master level licensed counselors and social workers to provide mental health counseling. With training and experience in both mental health and substance abuse, the clinical staff are able to assess the impact of mental health issues on recovery from substance abuse and dependency. The patient is guided in concrete steps toward healing from trauma, development of healthier family and social relationships, ongoing management of any chronic mental health conditions, and prevention of illicit substance use.
