services

In May 2022, FGC partnered with the State of Illinois and City of Chicago to launch a statewide 24/7 helpline called MAR NOW. The helpline, connected to the pre-existing Illinois Helpline for Opioids and Other Substances, connects callers seeking medications for opioid or alcohol use disorder to a prescribing physician. Callers may begin medications at home after their telehealth encounter, or are brought to an FGC clinic for medications (like methadone) that cannot be started at home.

Since May 2022, the MAR NOW program has served over 7,000 patients with evidence-based OUD treatment. 90% received buprenorphine for opioid use disorder, the vast majority of whom started this treatment at home without first going to a clinic.
