FGC provides comprehensive assessment, individual counseling, group counseling, and toxicology services for adolescents with a substance use disorder, aged 12-18. Adolescents typically complete between one and six hours of programming a week, depending on their needs and preferences. Participation in adolescent group counseling is strongly encouraged to facilitate peer group learning and support. Services are offered in the afternoon and early evening hours to accommodate school and work schedules. Individualized treatment planning addresses issues such as schooling, employment, psychosocial development, family support, readiness to change, and transportation. Currently, adolescent services are offered at FGC's Joliet and Harvey clinic locations.
